I updated the blog, then our server went out, then Brad redid stuff and the last post he could find was from Christmas.  Sad.  I’ll update with real stuff soon.  Dog is taking over my life!

Christmas, a little late

January21

Christmas eve present is always new pajamas.  Then we act out the nativity.  With only 3, we use stuffed animals to help out.  Santa came and gave everyone just what they wanted.  He even managed to fit a trampoline in his sleigh.  He was so great to set it up in the middle of the night during a freezing rain.    There were lots of sibling hugs when they gave each other the gifts they picked out.  It was a great day and the house was a mess for days.  We spent the whole 2 weeks off all together.  We got to relax at home and enjoy this Christmas season.

Christmas traditions

January17

Every year we have some fun Christmas traditions.  On Dec. 13th the kids start to open a new book each night before bed.  It is our version of the 12 days of Christmas.  On Dec. 13th they also get to open a new ornament for the tree.  Each year I try to find an ornament that reminds me of what they did that year.  This year Matthew got a red car, he is obsessed with cars.  Ali got a soccer ball ornament and Jackson got a baseball one.  I did 2 this year so they also each got an ornament with their initial on it.  Here are some silly pics I captured along the way.  My camera was on a weird setting for the first half.  Made me a little sad when I downloaded.

Our December so far…

December21

Christmas card pic of the kids we didn’t use.  Gingerbread houses, of course.  Ali won 2 art awards recently.  One was artist of the week and the other was a cover art contest for her school directory.  Way to go Ali!!  A couple pics of Brad’s business trip to Zurich.  He has gone to Europe twice and Japan all this year.  Lucky guy!  Ali playing indoor soccer.  It is hard to get a picture.  I get way too into the games.  She is also goalie indoor and it stresses me out.  I am usually found standing on the bleachers looking tense, not taking pictures :)  Matthew has been much more naughty than nice lately.

Thanksgiving

December21

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  I am thankful we got to share our Thanksgiving with family.  It was our first family thanksgiving in 7 years.  It was great to have both our families in town.  My parents came the week before Thanksgiving and Brad’s parents and brother came in the week of.  We saw the trains at Northpark with  my parents.  It is our tradition this time of year. We had lots of yummy turkey.  Brad smoked one outside in the smoker while I bakes a traditional one on the oven.  The smoked one has looks pink from the smoke.  They were yummy.  When everyone left Matthew kept asking where his friends were.  When he found things in 3’s he would say they were for Grandpa, Grandma and Mark.  It made my heart smile.  I love to see my kids with their Grandparents.  We don’t see family often so when we do, it is great!
