hmmmm time for an update

February16

Wow, I haven’t posted in a while.  We had a wonderful summer.  We traveled to Disneyland and stayed at a beach house.  We also stayed at a lake house here in Texas.  It was great.  We have tons of great pictures.  I will probably post one day.

Mid August started and I started throwing up.  Thanks to the new bundle that will join our family soon.  And I threw up and threw up some more, everyday til Thanksgiving.  In October I had surgery to sew my cervix shut to prevent preterm labor.  OUCH!!!  Since then it has been a whirl wind of keeping up with my kids and all the sports they play.  Helping out with school work and piano practice.  Starting Matthew in preschool and watching him grow and love school.  And through it all I am just trying to survive, rest like I should, and keep my head above water.  I have thought many times during pregnancy that this baby is going to kill me.  I have been so exhausted and sick.  Blogging has been the last thing on my mind.  I need to get back to writing our life events down so we can always remember the fun things we do and the hard times too.  Good thing I have a wonderful husband and great kids to help me out everyday.

Baby boy should arrive in about a month.  We should have lots of fun posts then!  Thanks so high blood pressure I need to rest more so more posts should pop up soon.

Matthew has an emergency

June15

Just a week after I had some oral surgery, Matthew has to be rushed to the Dr for splitting open his forehead.  My sister was in town visiting and Matthew was in time out.  I was getting ready to meet Brad at the temple.  I heard a loud crash from upstairs and ran up to see Matthew’s bookcase in his room face down.  I lifted it to reveal him bleeding badly underneath.   I yelled for my sister because the bookcase was too heavy to lift and help Matthew at the same time.  She grabbed him and with the EMT training took over and got the bleeding to stop.  We took him to my pediatrician who was able to glue it back together.  Any deeper or closer to his eye and he would have had to be taken to the emergency room or had stitches.  I realized I didn’t take any pictures of it.    I still had stitches in my mouth and had company.  Pictures were not foremost in my mind.  Here is one where you can see the steri strips over the glue.  Matthew is spelled t-r-o-u-b-l-e. My first child injury needing immediate medical attention

Surgery, field day and a crazy dog

June15

Better late than never, playing catch up.

I had surgery in May because they thought my implant (in my mouth) needed to be replaced.  They peeled back the roof of my mouth and gums over my front 5 teeth to reveal I didn’t need surgery and closed me up.  It hurt!!  Wierd pic at the end if one I took of me the day after surgery.  Not too swollen but very painful for a week.  The kids had a great field day at school.  I captured some pictures of them having fun.  The darn dog just keeps getting bigger and bigger.  It is hard to contain and control a 45 lb puppy.  She also sleeps in strange places like behind a toilet.  It is hot in the south and she prefers cold.  I also visited UT and went to Women’s Conf with my Mom at BYU.

A lost post and DOG!!

May25

Something happened to our server.  Our blog runs off of it and Brad had to replace it.  Somehow we lost a post or two.  So catch up….Some Valentines Day fondue anyone??  Ali participated in the science fair.  Jackson has school projects too.  Brad turned the big 33.  And during Spring Break we got a dog.  She has taken over my life for the last 2 months. We got her from a breeder in Arlington.  She is a pure bred AKITA.  We named her SUKI.  We googled Japanese dog names and that is where we found it.  She was 7 1/2 weeks when we got her.  She was totally a baby, crying during the night and everything.  I wasn’t prepared for getting up multiple times a night with her.  She is growing FAST!!  I hired a well known and popular dog trainer.  She trained ME to speak dog.  I spoke dog to Suki and wow, like magic she responds.  Suki let me know she didn’t like big expensive dog beds, she prefers the tile floor.  She loves to chew walls, baskets and especially shoes.  We often see her running from the garage to the side yard with our shoes in her mouth.  I don’t mind the bite marks, the chewing of the house or even the fact that I see dog hair on things.  Oh yeah and my house smells like a dog too.  She watches over me and the kids and even got protective of me when a door to door sales said “hi” to me on out walk.   He jumped in the street and didn’t dare come within 20 feet of me.  In her defense he was covered in tats and looked like trouble.  I bent down and said good girl.  Other than that guy, she loves everyone.  She goes everywhere with me and loves Jackson’s baseball games, neighborhood walks and going in the car.  She is 40 lbs now and is on her way to be 80-100 lbs.  Yikes!!  When she drives me crazy I think of all the times I hear my kids tell her she is their best friend and the best pet ever.  They refer to her as their sister.  Alright, I guess we can keep her.
